Walk in the footsteps of the apostles, saints and early pilgrims.

Pilgrimage Tours
specialise in tours to the significant sites for Christians worldwide and cover the major religious sites, places of miracles and other important places.

The pilgrimages are led by experienced tour leaders and tour chaplains.

A pilgrimage can often be described as a “special package holiday” and it is true that our tours combine the best elements of an organised tour, visiting the major places of interest in your destination, in the company of others and with a tour escort, however they also have a unique religious theme.

Our experienced tour escorts ensure the daily arrangements and concerns are looked after for you, allowing you time to relax, take in the sights, experiences and information and time to reflect on the history and significance of the places visited.

The groups are always kept to a small number so you have the chance to meet new friends and you have the space to relax and reflect, or partake in extra activities – as you wish.

Mary MacKillop Rome
canonisation tour

Blessed Mary MacKillop3 tours departing October 2010.

The 84-year quest to recognise Australasia’s first saint came to fruition when it was announcedin Rome that Blessed Mary MacKillop will be canonised in a ceremony at the Vatican on
17 October this year.

Blessed Mary MacKillop, who died in 1909, passed the first
stage to sainthood when Pope John Paul II beatified her in
1995 after recognising a first miracle attributed to her, in which
a woman was cured of terminal leukaemia. In December last, the Pope recognised a final miracle - the last hurdle for her
canonisation - in which a woman's cancer cure was attributed to her.

This is the news New Zealand and Australian Catholics have been waiting for. We are delighted that the goodness and the holiness of the life of our Blessed Mary MacKillop has been recognised by the Church. It is likely she will be known as St Mary of the Cross.
Living among the great social problems of the 19th Century Mary MacKillop responded with unbounded generosity to assist those most in need around her. She did this by founding the Sisters of St Joseph and as a nun she was able to commit her life to God and to the poor. She exhibited a deep faith in God, with hope and selfless charity. Many young women joined her as Sisters and many others, both Catholics and others supported Mary and the Sisters in bringing services, hope and consolation to so many people in both Australia and New Zealand.

The canonisation ceremony will also recognise five other Saints from Canada, Italy, Poland and Spain. Catholic people from throughout the world will celebrate this goodness when the Holy Father canonises Mary and these other saints this October.

There are three separate options available to choose from, all of which include the Canonisation service:

1. 16 days in Italy including Assisi, Rome, Monte Cassino, St Padre Pois home, the Isle of Capri, Pompeii. This option commences and concludes in Rome. Including flights and stopover this is a 19 day tour package.

2. 5 day Rome package. This option commences and concludes in Rome.

3. 8 days in the Holy Land plus 5 days in Rome. This option commences in Rome and concludes in Israel. Including flights and stopover this is a 16 day tour package.

Please contact us today for your brochure with full details on the available packages, itineraries and pricing.

Please note that due to the high demand from within New Zealand and Australia and the fact that five other saints will be canonised the same day at the Vatican, guaranteed access is only available for a limited number of people.

We look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion in Rome and have reserved seating for our group at the canonisation.
